CourseLite Support
One mailbox, read by a person. Here is what to include so the first reply is a useful one.
Email us at
support@courselite.org
Write from the address on your CourseLite account where you can — it saves a round trip confirming who you are. CourseLite is an online service with no public office, so there is no postal address to write to.
Installing the extension
CourseLite is a Chrome extension plus a website. Install the extension in Chrome, sign in at courselite.org, then open your course page and click the CourseLite icon in the toolbar to open the panel.
The panel only opens when you click. CourseLite holds no standing access to the sites you visit; clicking the toolbar icon is what grants it access to that one tab. If nothing happens when you click, check that the extension is enabled at chrome://extensions, then reload the page.
Adding a course
Open a course on your institution's learning platform, click the CourseLite icon, and press Add Course. CourseLite reads the modules, pages, assignments and files you can already see, using the sign-in you already have. It never asks for your platform password and cannot write anything back.
- Nothing imported? Make sure you are on a course page rather than the platform's home or dashboard, and that the course actually has published material.
- A file did not come through? Files are read in your browser. One CourseLite cannot read says so and links out to it rather than failing silently — tell us which file and which course.
- Import stopped partway? Re-run it. Re-adding a course you already added does not cost you another course slot.
Your account
Sign-in, password resets and email changes are handled on the sign-in screen. If you can no longer receive mail at the address on your account, email us from any address and say which account it is — we will work it out with you.
Billing and subscriptions
Plans and what each one includes are on the pricing page. Payment is handled by Stripe; card details are entered on Stripe's own page and CourseLite never sees them. Manage or cancel a subscription from Settings.
Cancelling and deleting are different things. Cancelling stops the next payment and keeps everything you have made until the period you paid for runs out. Deleting your account removes your work. If you want to stop paying and keep your courses, cancel — do not delete. Refunds for unused time are considered individually; the Refund and Cancellation Policy explains how.
Google Drive
When a course links Google Docs, Slides or Sheets, CourseLite can read them as part of the course. It only asks for Google when a course has Google material, and a course with none never mentions Google.
The permission CourseLite asks for is drive.file, which by Google's own enforcement covers only the files you explicitly pick. It cannot see the rest of your Drive, and CourseLite never changes or deletes a Google file. You can disconnect it at any time from Settings.
CourseLite no longer writes assignments into Google Docs or Slides. If you allowed that before 5 October 2026, you can remove the permission from your Google Account’s third-party access page; the files stay in your Drive.
Reporting a bug
Email support@courselite.org. What helps most:
- What you were doing, and what happened instead.
- The course, and the assignment or file if it was about one.
- Roughly when it happened — it lets us find the matching error record.
- Whether it happens every time or happened once.
Please do not send screenshots containing other people's work or anything you would not want stored in an inbox.
Security
To report a vulnerability, email security@courselite.org rather than the support address.
Privacy and your data
For a copy of your data, a correction, or deletion, email support@courselite.org. We respond within 30 days and will not charge you or treat you differently for asking.
- Privacy Policy — what is collected, where it goes, and how long it stays.
- Deleting your account — how to do it, what goes, and what survives. You do not need to be signed in to read it.
- All legal documents — terms, acceptable use, academic integrity, refunds, subprocessors and the rest.
